Quality music teaching by quality music teachers

The Victorian Music Teachers' Association (VMTA) has over 750 members who are instrumental music teachers working in their own studio and in schools throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Members are not employed by the VMTA but are listed as teachers on our website after joining our professional association.

In addition to being listed on our website, members choose to receive ongoing professional development and a range of members services that ensure they are kept up to date with developments in their profession. We also provide our members with networking opportunities, and support and guidance regarding teaching rates and conditions.

There are 4 main types of membership categories listed on our website:

  1. Full members ('fully accredited' music teachers)
  2. Associate members ('non-accredited' music teachers)
  3. Graduate members (graduates of an approved tertiary course in music and/or music teaching )
  4. Student members (full time students)

All our members:
